Home Sweet Home Manjung...

What a busy weekend we had...went back to Manjung after work last Friday. The n ext day,we went to buy lights and lamps for my new house there. The installation for the whole house took all evening till night and I don't know it's quite costly!huhu..I thought it's just an easy job but apparently it's not ;-)

Finally, I got to see the new grill...I love the design but thought they could do it better. The paint is not so nice, appeared 'untidy' at some places if you look up close. It looks fine from afar, though...

Alhamdulillah, I manage to own  a property at Manjung. Seeing this new house without us not being able to live here first, kind of feel sad and 'sayangnya...'. Yeah la, wanna rent your new house to someone else..will the tenant take care of ur house like he will take care of his own house? If I didn't rent out also can but I will not get extra money to ease my loan payment.

I hope this house will be ready for rent by mid October. A few touch ups for the grill and a leak at the kitchen wall need to be done first. Hopefully it will get a good tenant :) I will update more with pics inside the house soon, anyone interested can contact me :)

Melaka on long weekend

It's a long weekend holiday as 1 Malaysia day falls on Sunday. How do u spend ur hols?Well,I cannot spend with my family as I have to attend 'Kursus Pembacaan Akta' at Hang Tuah World Heritage Hotel.Sounds boring right the course, but I have to face it now as this is going to be part of my work.Since I'm only on my 2nd week of working at MOH, and had no idea about the act, hopefully my sacrifice for the weekend will benefit me if not many, some important parts about the 586 Act..

Selamat Hari Raya!

Our family pic on the morning of 1st Syawal
Out of a sudden, I felt like want to post some pics taken from Hari Raya. Still not too late right, we're still in Syawal month. I'm sure there are many open houses to attend to, not to mention 'jamuan Hari Raya' at our workplace. This year, it's my hometown' turn. When you're married, you have to rotate with your spouse where to celebrate your Hari Raya first, right. So, this time we celebrate at Bota Kiri, Perak...yahoo! We were there till 3rd day of Hari Raya...

Org sibuk makan kuih raya, si kecil ni sibuk makan gula2 Sugus :)

So happy this 2 little girl playing swing at neighbour's house

My little brother, Asyraf just graduated from University of Reading, UK with a law degree. He came back Malaysia during Ramadhan month and we are able to celebrate Hari Raya together. Make sure you get your CLP soon, bro! :)

Here we come...Putrajaya!

Such a long time since I wrote the last entry. Actually, I have many things to talk about, great pictures to share and have been to great places but just didn't have the time and desire to sit in front of my laptop and typing....busy with work, housework and of course my daughter :) Adding to the whole lazy attitude is my P1wimax connection is very very lousy in Manjung! So slow and most of the time cannot browse the internet. BUT, now that we've moved to Putrajaya, P1wmax coverage is excellent at my new home....always 3 full bars :) oohh yess readers, I've finally got my transfer to Putrajaya after 2 months of long-distance relationship with my husband..
Finally! I got my transfer...

This is only my 2nd week at Putrajaya. At the last minute, my husband came across an ad in mudah.com.my and bought a flat at Presint 11...affordable, sold with fully furnished (3 airconds in all 3 bedrooms, kitchen cabinet, and basic furniture u usually put in a house). Now, our house is still not fully settled, got many stuff not unpacked yet because seriously, I have no idea where to put them all in the small house. You can imagine how you want to cram all your belongings and furniture from a semi-d double storey house to an apartment of ??? sq feet.....quite a challenge. Have to go to IKEA to find suitable household furniture/racks for limited space.
Our soon to be home sweet home...hopefully. Still lots of work to do...many boxes to unpack

Happy Birthday!

I'm a year older today. Didn't do anything special today, just hanging around at home with my loved ones. I already got my birthday present from my husband...an early present, actually...the vacation to Bandung in early February :)

Many would complaint if it's their birthday, they are older. Age is just a number. So what if you're getting old? It's part of a normal life process. To me, I'm thankful that Allah still give me the chance to live in His beautiful world, giving me the chance to make more great memories with my beloved families and my cherished friends...i also can add on my not so great 'ibadat' to Him....Alhamdulillah...Thank You Allah.

I have many plans for this year. Hopefully, He will help me to accomplish them :) Thank you very much to those who sent birthday wishes for me....be it posted in Facebook, via email or SMS...I truly appreciate them...they made my day! :) May this year brings lots of happiness, health and success for me and my family...Amin..

Bandung Holiday...Part 2 : Food!

Now, let's talk about everyone's fave topic : food! Where are the nice places to eat and what local delicacies you must try at Bandung? Let's follow me...

We had our first dinner at Lisung Cafe & restaurant at The Valley...yes, it's on top of a hill. Actually, there are many other restaurants and cafe to choose from at the hill. Here, you can get magnificent view of Bandung city at night.  The cafe is an open concept and you'll be enjoying your meal with cool breeze blowing on your face and the sparkling lights scenery of the city......
The actual view is more beautiful than in the picture.  My Sony Cybershot failed to capture it :)

According to our tourist guide, people like to eat here not because of the food, but to savour the beautiful scenery :) We ate Nasi Liwet. For me, the food is good. Quite sumptuous for 2 person...coconut rice, ayam kampung, tauhu, crackers, salted fish, fresh ulam-ulam & salad...hmm kenyang! We also had 'Tofu Soup' for Aliya. Guess how much all these plus 3 drinks? Only Rp175,000 (around RM58).

On the second day, we had lunch at Kampung Daun Culture Gallery & Cafe. Definitely the most beautiful restaurant I've been so far! Here, you eat in the nature in nicely built huts....it's so refreshing and calming with all the green trees and clean, fresh mountain air.

Let's enjoy the great scenery here....

This is the hut where you'll be enjoying your meal..

A breathtaking 'natural' waterfall

Aliya loves the fish pond

Our lunch dishes are......
Nasi Campur Sunda
Soto Kudus with white rice

Kampung Daun Sling

The price? All these plus Soto Betawi with 2 more drinks for only RM60 :-)

The second night in Bandung we ate at a restaurant near our hotel....Restoran Sangkuriang. On the outside, the restaurant might looked simple, but inside....it's a bit similar like Kampung Daun as you can choose to eat in the huts....more privacy :)

Sitting "bersila" in the eating hut
The food was marvelous! We had Sup Buntut (called sup ekor in Malaysia), kangkung hotplate and ikan gerume bakar....The ikan bakar was very nice!

We also managed to try Nasi Padang Minang....Bandung style, at Simpang Raya Restaurant..
Mouth watering, rite? Too many dishes? Hihi....the waiter will place all the dishes on your table and you choose which one you want to eat. You only pay for what you ate :) We had daging dendeng, ayam pop, begedil, sambal, ulam-ulaman and curry vegetable. We spent about RM30 here.

Mi Jawa is famous here
The last dish we try at Bandung was Mi Jawa. It is the first time I ate it and I love it! The taste is not like other type of mee dishes we have in Malaysia. This is a must try dish! Actually, mi jawa originate from Jakarta, not Bandung.

They cooked with charcoal! Really old fashioned....not using gas hub like we normally do. Maybe that's what makes it taste so good and different? Hehehe.....
Chef in action

Aliya loves the Liang Tea

Mi Jawa
There you go....some of the restaurants I was able to go to during 4 days in Bandung.Generally, the food are cheaper compared to the food in Malaysia and the vegetables are really fresh! The food is quite similar, just with slight different taste.

Bandung Holiday...Part 1 : Shopping!

Assalamualaikum and hello all readers! My lovely husband gave me the best birthday present ever....a trip to Bandung @ Paris van Java :) (an early birthday present, actually - my birthday is on 19th Feb,people! Take note!hehe). We went there from 1st till 5th of  February by Air Asia...my husband got cheap tickets during its promotion.

We stayed at Marciella Hotel in Bandung...really comfy bed!Love the bedsheet!

The Deluxe hotel room....
The first day agenda is SHOPPING! Hehehe...I know many of you girls like this one! Bandung is definitely a shopping heaven...let's see where to shop at Bandung...

For a start, we went to the Factory Outlets....there are sooo many outlets here to choose from...
The most expensive outlet, Rumah Mode is the first factory outlet in Bandung. Rumah Mode is beautifully landscaped. The upper class ones usually shops here. You even have to pay before enter, unlike other outlets where the parking is free. TIPS : Don't shop here because the price here is about rp30,000 (RM10) more expensive than other outlets. Believe me, the clothes are the same..it's expensive because it's popular. Just stop by here to take pictures, like I did!
You can see all the outlets/shops here are built like big houses, each with its own designs....
Among other fashion outlets are....

This is my favourite fashion outlet...Central Branded Outlet...lots of nice and reasonable branded kids clothes!

Next shopping place is of course, Pasar Baru. This place is similar to Pasar Siti Khadijah at Kelantan. You can find everything here....ready made clothes, batik clothes, telekung, Bandung t-shirts, 'kain pasang', jubah and many more. As Malay would say, you'll become "rambang mata" here...hehe. TIPS : Just bring lots of money and brushen up your bargaining skills!

There are EIGHT FLOORS of shops at Pasar Baru for you to explore..the 'telekung' here are very nice and all the items are cheaper compared in Malaysia. I definitely can spend an entire day or more shopping at Pasar Baru! :-)

For all jean lovers out there, Toko Tiga is a must visit place! Here, many branded jeans and shirts like Levi's,Burberry,Hugo Boss are sold at lower prices!

For example, Levi's jeans you can get for about RM100 after discount! If no discount, you can get a Levi's jeans at RM130-RM180...cheaper compared in Malaysia, rite? You can also get the original jeans cutting service here for Rp.10,000 (around RM3 only).

I love the interior decorations at Toko Tiga...creative and gives you a fresh greenery feelings with a lovely fish pond and birds...so that your little ones won't feel bored :)

If you are into handbags or purses, you can head to Jalan Riau...there is "Terminal Tas Tangan" with lots of branded bags.

Well, there you go about where and what to shop at Bandung. Next entry, I'll tell you where and what to eat at Bandung....sounds yummy, right!
